Elaine Clayton (Australia)


Elaine is the Business Development & Marketing Manager for Black & White Engineering Solutions, a regulatory compliance consultancy offering ‘cradle to grave’ solutions for consumer products. Degree qualified in communications and an associate member of the Australian Marketing Institute, her role within the company includes both communicating the value of standards to clients and using standards in conformity assessment. Elaine has been with BWES since 2005 with key areas of expertise including project management, recalls and conformity assessment of child-care products. An active member of the Australian Industry Group’s Electrical Appliances and Accessories Forum, Elaine was nominated as their representative on Australian Standards Committee CS-106- Consumers Product Management Systems. Elaine has also actively participated in three working groups relating to IEC TC 61, acting as the secretary and risk assessment facilitator for the most recent meeting.


Jonathan Colby

Jonathan Colby (United States of America)


Jonathan is a Hydrodynamic Engineer with Verdant Power. He has been with the company since 2006, after completing a Master’s Degree in Aerospace Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology. As a member of the company’s Engineering and Resource Assessment Teams, his work includes turbine blade design, hydrodynamic modelling, data processing and analysis, fieldwork, and general turbine operation responsibilities for both US and Canadian projects. He is a U.S. representative on TC114, Marine Renewable Energy, and a subject matter expert developing standards for the assessment of power performance for Tidal Energy Convertors. Jonathan is also actively involved in outreach with organizations and universities in the New York City area.

david victor tackie

David Tackie (Denmark)


David is an Electrician and Electrical Engineer with a solid technical background and wide experience of Smart Grid R&D projects and electric distribution systems. He is currently working on the development of the future electrical grid, including PV systems, wind turbines, Micro-CHP, EVs and heat pumps. He is also particularly interested in economics, management and marketing. In addition to his job at Danish Energy Association, David is studying a Bachelor in Business Administration, specializing in Marketing Management. He is also a board member at DBS Lys, a supplier of light bulbs, lamps and other electrical materials. David has already been involved in international standardization work as a member of Danish Standards mirror groups of TC8, TC57 and as an expert for TC8X WG 5 on smart grid projects in Europe. He finds the development of standards both exciting and very beneficiary for companies that have a long-term and sustainable business perspective.
