The fourth IEC YP eDiscussion brought together two IEC 2012 Young Professional Leaders to share their knowledge on standardization for systems. This session begins with the topic of systems engineering and then moves on to standardization of power supply and demand coordination.
The first speaker, Ms Manyphay Viengkham, is a Senior Systems Analyst at General Electrics. She currently works in the GridIQ™ software as a service team. Among her many achievements she has contributed to the development of the Smart Grid Standards Map. She was elected as an IEC 2012 YP Leader at the IEC Young Professionals workshop in Oslo.
Our second speaker, Mr Frens Jan Rumph, works as a researcher and consultant in the field of Smart Grids at TNO and has a background in computer science. He is a member of the Dutch national mirror committees of IEC TC 57 and IEC TC 69 and also of the ‘reference architecture’ working group of CEN, CENELEC and ETSI’s Smart Grids Coordination Group.
