Upcoming events

2021 Asia-Pacific International EMC Symposium
27-30 September, Nusa Dua, Bali (currently planned as in-person conference)
A full symposium and exhibition is planned covering all EMC topics. APEMC aims to share advances in all aspect More... s of research conducted into EMC and to respond to the latest requirements by networking with the international EMC community. The symposium invites all engaged in the latest research and development of the various fields of EMC to participate in the APEMC 2021 symposium.
Joint European and Asian Electromagnetics Conference (EUROEM/ASIAEM) 2022
Abu Dhabi, UAE in early 2022
This (normally) annual conference covers high power electromagnetics (HPEM) technology including the response More... of electronics to intense EM fields. The EUREOM Conference was originally scheduled for Hamburg, Germany in August 2020, but due to COVID-19 was cancelled. It was decided to combine the organization of the next ASIAEM 2021 Conference with the cancelled EUROEM Conference. Website link not yet available.
2022 Asia Pacific EMC (APEMC)
8-11 May, 2022
The 13th Asia-Pacific International Symposium on Electromagnetic Compatibility & Technical Exhibition (APEMC 2 More... 022) will be co-located with and held during the 2022 Beijing EMC Week, Beijing, China, from 8 to 11 May 2022. It will continue the APEMC spirit to engage and address the world-wide EMC community with a primary focus on the Asia-Pacific region and serve as a bridge and provide a broad exchange platform for both academia and industry. It will recognize innovations and technology leaderships through Best Symposium Paper Awards, the Best Student Paper Awards, and other reputable recognitions. The event will covre the entire spectrum of EMC, electromagnetic environment, signal integrity and featured EMC in emerging technologies.
2022 ESA Workshop on Aerospace EMC
23-25 May 2022, Potsdam, Germany
The main goals of this workshop are to: establish a forum opportunity for EMC researchers and engineers involv More... ed in aerospace; give a wide picture of the present state of EMC technology and trends; and encourage awareness of future developments, which will allow the EMC community to keep up the pace of spacecraft and aircraft design advances.
2022 IEEE International Symposium on Electromagnetic Compatibility, Signal & Power Integrity
1-5 August 2022, Spokane, Washington
The EMC topics covered include standards, measurement techniques and test procedures, instrumentation, equipme More... nt and systems characteristics, interference control techniques and components, education, computational analysis, and spectrum management, along with scientific, technical, industrial, professional or other activities that contribute to this field. Website link not yet available.
CIGRE 2022 Technical Exhibition Session
29 August-2 September 2022, Paris, France
This conference and exhibition includes oral and poster paper submissions and discussions and includes a large More... exhibition focusing on electric high voltage equipment. Study Committee C4 covers the EMC topic and many working groups are active in the field of EMC.

Access to IEC Guide 107

IEC Guide 107, Electromagnetic compatibility - Guide to the drafting of electromagnetic compatibility publications, can be accessed through
Members & Experts Reference material > Guides. The area is password restricted.

In an Administrative Circular issued in 2005 (AC/23/2005) to all national committees and TC/SC officers, the IEC SMB (Standardization Management Board) reminded technical committees and subcommittees to follow IEC Guide 107 when drafting EMC publications and/or including EMC requirements in product standards.

Please note the current version: IEC Guide 107: 2014 (Edition 4).

In October 2009, (the same year as the third edition of Guide 107 was published), when confirming that IEC Guides contain mandatory and non-mandatory texts, the SMB stated that IEC Guides 104, 107 and 108 are mandatory containing requirements that shall be met. This was fully implemented in the 2014 edition of Guide 107.

IEC Guide 104, The preparation of safety publications and the use of basic safety publications and group safety publications, and IEC Guide 108, Guidelines for ensuring the coherency of IEC publications - Application of horizontal standards, can also be accessed through the Members & Experts section of the IEC website, under Reference material/Guides.
