AutomationML - Engineering Data Exchange Format
This working group develops IEC 62714 (AutomationML) that supports the interoperability among engineering software tools in a heterogeneous landscape. AutomationML is an XML-based data format and offers meta modelling as well as object-oriented concepts. It can be used to represent system structures, components with their geometry and kinematics, logic, relations, and future features. It is scalable and covers production systems from factories/plants down to devices. AutomationML relies on the standards: CAEX (IEC 62424) COLLADA (ISO/PAS 17506), and PLCopen XML (IEC 61131-10). AutomationML increases understandability, exchangeability, extensibility, scalability of data related to industrial production systems exchanged among different stakeholders (e.g. manufacturers, system integrators, or users)
