Bibliography

(The full requirements are described in the ISO/IEC Directives Part 2:2011, 6.4.2)

Creating a bibliography is optional. It includes referenced documents which are only cited in the text in an informative manner or other background material that could be of interest to the reader.

For references to ISO and IEC documents, the presentation rules follow the conventions used in the Normative references. For other referenced documents and information resources (printed, electronic or otherwise), the relevant rules set out in ISO 690 shall be followed – information sufficient to identify and locate the source shall be provided.

Bibliographical entries can be numbered or not.

Note: If numbered, numbers must appear in [square brackets] and references must be numbered consecutively in the order they appear in the text. A footnote "Numbers in square brackets refer to the Bibliography" should be inserted at the first instance of such a reference within the body of the document.
