FDIS documents (Approval stage)
Incoming FDIS documents go through entry control before being accepted. The following aspects are examined:
Layout, tables, texts |
|
Figures |
|
Editing |
|
If the document has no major problems in relation with the above, it is accepted for editing.
Once accepted, these documents are considered a priority; most are dealt with within 1,5 months. FDIS documents are treated within 3 months (ISO/IEC Directives, Part 1).
After entry control, the documents go through the following steps:
- Formatting
- Editing
- Any questions are sent to the TC Secretary, who is requested to reply within 10 working days
- Figures are reviewed and modified if necessary
- After approval by the IEC Technical Officer, the document is circulated for vote
If, after the FDIS vote, the publication is approved, no more changes of a technical nature can be made to it. Only obvious editorial mistakes can be corrected.
