Drafting IEC publications
Naming scheme for graphics files
If you give your figure files meaningful and well-structured names, it will be easier for you and for the IEC to work with them.
If more than one person in your working group prepares figures, it is essential for everyone to apply the same naming scheme.
It is up to you to find a good way of naming your files, but we recommend you to use the following or a similar structure:
[TC/SC/WG]-[IS-no]-[figure title].[file extension]
We do not advise you to include the figure or subclause number into the title as these may change during the elaboration of your document or when you re-use the figure files for a subsequent edition.
