The following guides have been designated by the Standardization Management Board as being normative:

• IEC Guide 104 Ed. 4.0 (2010-08) The preparation of safety publications and the use of basic safety publications and group safety publications
• IEC Guide 107 Ed. 3.0 (2009-02) Electromagnetic compatibility - Guide to the drafting of electromagnetic compatibility publications
• IEC Guide 108 Ed. 2.0 (2006-08) Guidelines for ensuring the coherency of IEC publications - Application of horizontal standards

Approval

Draft Guides adopted by the responsible Committee or Group are circulated to the member bodies for voting.

Publication as a Guide requires approval by at least 75 % of the member bodies casting a vote.
