Last call for 2009 IEC Lord Kelvin Award nominations
The Lord Kelvin Award
is the highest recognition
given by the IEC.
The IEC Lord Kelvin Award has, since its creation in 1995, become a landmark within the global electrotechnical community. Although not necessarily granted every year, this prestigious award may be presented to a maximum of three prominent persons in any one year. It acknowledges outstanding contributions to IEC technical work in favour of International Standardization, Conformity Assessment and related activities and is the highest recognition given by the IEC.
NCs (National Committees), TC/SC (Technical Committee/Subcommittee) Chairmen, and members of the SMB (Standardization Management Board) and CAB (Conformity Assessment Board) are invited to send their nominations for the 2009 IEC Lord Kelvin Award to the Council Secretariat by 24 April 2009 at the latest.
Details of nomination criteria and the relevant procedures can be found in AC/7/2009.
It is planned that the IEC President will present the Award – an inscribed gold medal – and a lapel pin to the laureate or laureates during the 73rd IEC General Meeting, 18-22 October 2009 in Tel Aviv, Israel. |
