Teaching about Standardization – for Professors, Researchers and Students
IEC and Academia

Readers will, we hope, have noticed the new section of the IEC website dedicated to academia. As another objective implemented from the IEC Masterplan 2006, the site aims to help both teachers and students understand the critical role of standardization in today’s global economy, and to provide them with some resources to use in their own work and studies.

While a more in-depth insight into this project can be found in the “Spotlight” section of this month’s edition, the site includes relevant academic papers, a series of lectures by Don Purcell, Catholic University of America, and Tineke Egyedi, Delft University, audio/video presentations explaining standardization and IEC operations, and sample working documents and an example of an IEC Standard.
