The second IEC YP eDiscussion brought together three IEC Young Professionals (YPs) to share their experiences and talk about their involvement in IEC activities following the IEC YP workshop.They offered their advice on how to go ahead, get ahead as an IEC YP.

 

The first speaker, Ms Stephanie McLarty, was elected as a 2010 YP Leader at the first YP workshop in Seattle. She was instrumental in co-ordinating the development of the YP manual which was written by the 2010 YPs to provide background information and guidance to future Young Professionals.


The second speaker is Mr Peter Ridge. Following his attendance at the YP workshop in 2010, Peter continued his involvement in IEC activities, notably supporting the development of the YP manual. He also participes in the steering committee that established the British Electrotechnical Committee equivalent YP programme in the UK.


The third speaker, Mr Carlos Rodriguez del Castillo, who also attended the first YP workshop in 2010. Carlos subsequently contributed to the development of the YP manual and got more involved in IEC technical activities, in particular as an expert on WG 10 of TC 57.
