Zhengrong Shi, Executive Chairman and founder of Suntech Power, one of the biggest global manufacturers of solar products for residential, commercial, industrial and utility applications, explains in this new IEC Global Visions interview how their active participation in IEC work allowed the company to steadily increase efficiency and quality of their products while overall reducing development and commercial costs. Shi was involved in the IEC before he founded his company. Already then he clearly understood the need for quality certification of PV modules as a basic requirement for field deployment. Suntech was the first company in China to build and test products according to IEC International Standards.
