Smart Grid
SG 3 was established in 2008 with the primary responsibility for the development of a framework that includes protocols and model standards to achieve interoperability of smart grid devices and systems and to develop a long term strategic plan for the IEC where future new standards work is needed.
A Smart Grid web portal on the IEC website is maintained by the SG 3 secretariat, providing a "one-stop shop" for industry including ready-to-use standards and guidance documents, as well as ongoing projects.
