SG 2

Standardization of Ultra High Voltage Technologies (UHV)

SG 2 was established in 2008, to Coordinate UHV standardization work in IEC TCs with the following scope:

to address the IEC standardization needs on a.c.(alternating current) voltages of 1 000 kV or higher and to indicate to SMB the directions for future standardization in these fields,

to address the IEC standardization needs on d.c (direct current), voltages of 800kV or higher and to indicate to SMB the directions for future standardization in these fields,

to accompany the progress in the implementation of road map, IEC SMB/4083/R, in related TCs and SCs,

to support SMB to clear up possible overlaps between responsibilities of the related TCs and SCs,

to make pre-study and address to SMB on the issues related on UHV standardization which are not indicated by the Joint IEC CIGRE group (JICCG), IEC, or other organizations.
