To prepare and maintain standards and specifications for fibre optic passive optical devices such as optical element, optical assembly, optical subassembly, or optical module, not dynamic or active and not requiring external power for its operation, unless to control the stability of its own characteristics. It may include optical detectors for monitoring purposes only.
