Title & Task
Advisory working group for medium voltage and high voltage
To assist the SC Officers (Chairman and Secretary) in standardization management in accordance with ISO/IEC Directives Part 1, Clause 1.11 "Groups having advisory functions within a committee".
The Advisory Group covers the technical field of High Voltage Switchgear and Controlgear Assemblies above 1 kV (including MV and HV).
The Advisory Group covers mid and long term issues not dealt in working group and maintenance teams.
It will make recommendations on market relevance of new standardization projects related to technical development and market needs. Such recommendations are related to the need of standardization because of technical development (e. g new design), new market requirements (e. g. deregulated energy market, maintenance and reliability). This will allow to improve and accelerate the acceptance of new technologies (e. g. digital control equipment) and will help to technical requirements in standards as well as to limit regional requirements.
Fundamental changes in technology and market relevance need an early identification to allow time for adaptation of standards to the new requirements.
In line with the Strategic Business Plan, the Advisory Group gives inputs in how to implement these strategies into projects.
The added value to SC 17C is to get global information about market relevance in regions and to follow the strategic business plan.
