Title & Task

WG 2

Protection of on-board and adjacent vehicle receivers

To consider the electromagnetic disturbances radiated and conducted from ignition systems and other electrical components which may affect radio communication when the receiver is installed in the vehicle itself. Consideration also includes the setting of standards for acceptable degradation for mobile radio communications in the presence of noise. The effets of noise from groups of vehicles and their influence on the level of interference and degradation to mobile radio communications shall also be considered. The work covers the development of test methods/limits related to on-board vehicle radio frequency noise sources which affect on-board and adjacent vehicle radio reception.

Note: Susceptibility of on-board receivers to conducted RF
energy and transients/pulses is already within the scope of
ISO/TC 22/SC 3/WG 3.
