Title & Task
WG 9
Power Quality measurement methods
Define measurement parameters of Power Quality and provide standard measurement methods for characterizing these parameters. Provide guidance on safe application and reliable interpretation of these measurements.
The definition of measurement methods is necessary in order to obtain reproducible and comparable results of measurements conducted by different organisations using different instruments.
These measurements are generally performed with field instruments for two principal purposes:
a) obtain statistical information on Power Quality at selected points of the networks,
b) resolve perceived or observed incompatibility at the point of use between equipment power needs and available power of the system.
The standard measurement methods are specified in normative body, while the guidance on application and interpretation are provided in informative annexes.
