Rosario Uría

Rosario Uría (2015-2017)

 

Rosario Uría is the Director of Standardization at INACAL (Instituto Nacional de Calidad) in Peru. She is a microbiologist by training, with a Masters in Environmental Engineering, and many years of experience and practical knowledge in the implementation of standards in the industry, particularly for quality management standards in several sectors of industry.

 

Rosario Uría represents regularly her country; Peru, in COPANT (Pan American Standards Commission) conferences and workshops. Thirty-one members of COPANT are part of the IEC Family.

 

Since December 2017, she is Secretary of the IEC National Committee of Peru.

Phuntsho Wangdi

Phuntsho Wangdi (2011-2014)

 

Phuntsho Wangdi was BSB (Bhutan Standards Bureau) Director since 2010, and before that was Director in SQCA (Standards & Quality Control Authority), in the Ministry of Works & Human Settlement of Bhutan.

 

After leading the IEC Affiliate Country Programme for 3 and a half years, he continues to support the Programme in the SAARC (South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation) region.

Carlos Rodríguez

Carlos Rodríguez (2006-2011)

 

Carlos Rodríguez was the INTECO (Instituto de Normas Técnicas de Costa Rica) Executive Director from 1996 until 2013.

 

After leading the IEC Affiliate Country Programme for five years, he was the IEC Affiliate Coordinator for Latin America until 2014.

Mesai Girma

 

Mesai Girma (2003-2006)

 

 

Mesai Girma was Director General of QSAE (Quality and Standards Authority of Ethiopia).

 

He joined QSAE in 1990 as Head of the Quality Control Division, then moved on to Head of the Quality Assurance Department in 1993, a position he held until April 1995, when he became Director General of QSAE.

Gene Hutchinson

 

Gene Hutchinson (2002-2003)

 

 

Gene A Hutchinson - first Affiliate Leader - was Managing Director of the BOBS (Botswana Bureau of Standards), after serving ten years as Executive Director of the TTBS (Trinidad and Tobago Bureau of Standards).

 

In addition to his role as Leader of the IEC Affiliate Country Programme, he was Chairman of ISO DEVCO, the ISO Committee on Developing Country Matters.
