IEC Membership grows

Membership higher than ever

 

Six countries joined the IEC as Members: Chile, Oman and the United Arab Emirates became full members while Georgia, Jordan and Morocco joined as associate members.

 

Both Georgia and Jordan had been participants in the IEC Affiliate Country Programme since 2002 and 2001 respectively.

 

The IEC membership reached an all-time high of 81 countries. Including the 81 countries participating in the IEC Affiliate Country Programme brings the IEC Family to 162 countries.

 

Training for new NC Secretaries

 

In September 2010, the IEC organized a practical training session for new National Committee Secretaries, during which they were not only able to learn a tremendous amount about the IEC, its strategies, standardization processes and working tools, but also to meet key people in IEC Central Office and get to know each other. Trainees came from Algeria, Egypt, Jordan, Morocco, Oman and the United Arab Emirates.
