International Standards and Conformity Assessment for all electrical, electronic and related technologies

SDG 13: Climate action

Take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts

IEC International Standards, together with testing and verification, help strengthen disaster resilience of infrastructures and cities. They help mitigate disaster risks and accelerate disaster recovery, reducing overall disaster impact. IEC work also provides the globally relevant solid technical foundation to make new, sustainable energy solutions broadly marketable.

IEC work is relevant to the following SDG 13 targets

  • SDG 13.1: Strengthen resilience and adaptive capacity to climate-related hazards and natural disasters in all countries
  • SDG 13.3: Improve education, awareness-raising and human and institutional capacity on climate change mitigation, adaptation, impact reduction and early warning
